#4 linocut Balance

To Freedom, 2010Edition no. 2/4, linocut
Lucy Timbell studied printmaking at Adelaide College of the Arts. The theme for this piece was "flight".  The artist chose to create a boat of refugees fleeing to Australia.
I love the balance of the asymmetrical waves, and the weight of the boat that compliments the land in the upper left corner.

Title is the link to her site.

#3 Lino Cut Shape

Millie Wellington sells her work on Etsy. This is an incredible lino cut that represent abstract shape forming recognizable trees alongside Koloa Town near the Poipu shores known as a tree tunnel.

This lino cut is hand printed on mulberry paper. It is 9X12 and only 100 prints were made.
This print is for sale here.

#8 Collagraph texture

Ricardio

Originally an arcitect designer, Ricardio likes to make a create art of kinds, including collagraph.
Clear tape, metallic fabric paint, leftover lace and aluminum foil were used in the process.
I personally love all the texture he got from the stuff he used. Great curves on the greenhouse.

#12 Screenprinting Color+Emphasis

Though I do not listen to Daves Matthews Band, I really like this 4 color screen print they used for their Toronto show during a tour.

Printed on French Speckletone Madero Beach paper. Dan from www.dkngstudios.com/ makes these wonderful prints.
I love the use of the Autumn colors and how the antlers are a tree.

#11 Screenprinting Patter/Repetition

                                                        Shepard Fairey

Peace and Justice Woman

Shepard Fairey is well known for his Andre the Giant Obey posters and graffiti art throughout the world. I like this screen print of his for pattern and repetition due to the powerful use of lines in the background and the patterns below her hands. This piece invokes a strength in peace and power in placement of design.

Born in America in 1970. This piece is 18X24 and 450 prints were made.
